Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do I need any special uniform or equipment?
A: No special equipment or uniforms are necessary for classes.
Additionally most techniques can be practiced without need of additional
equipment. We normally recommend people wear comfortable workout
clothes.
Q: Do you give/use ranking belts?
A: Traditionally belts are not used in martial arts. This is
a recent addition as schools became larger and more structured and
as schools held interschool competitions. As our emphasis is on
individualizing the training and improving health/self-defense,
ranking belts are not needed.
Q: What ages are in the classes? Do you teach kids?
A: Generally the class age is teenagers to adults. If there
is sufficient demand, childrens classes may be scheduled. Please
contact the instructor below for options.
Q: Do I need any previous experience?
A: No special experience is necessary. Previous experience is
of course welcome in all classes and outside techniques are frequently
discussed.
Q: What about safety? How dangerous is it?
A: Special precaution is taken at all times to ensure a safe
class environment. Students are taught how to practice safely while
still learning how to apply technique when it's necessary. Techniques
are taken slowly so that each person can safely and effectively
practice.
